If I’m completely honest, the main reason I went to see WAAX was because Charlotte and the Harlots were opening. I ended up arriving late and missing the Harlots set completely, but all was not lost….
Bakers Eddy were the second support. The crowd loved them, and getting close enough to the stage to shoot was a challenge. Although a little heavy on the pop and a little light on the punk for my tastes, they put on a great show.
I got myselt into a better positon for WAAX and was really glad that I did.
Vocalist Marie was brilliant and seemed to spend half the set half-in the front few rows.
I’d listened to WAAX’s album Big Grief a couple of times, but not enough for it to have made a huge impression. Seeing them live completely won me over. If you get the chance to see them, I’d highly recomment it.
